About Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve

This day trip takes you through a wetland conservation area, home to native birds and aquatic life. Begin your adventure with a sampan ride through the mangroves, offering breathtaking views of wild canals and tranquil surroundings.

Climb the 25-meter observation tower for panoramic views of the wetland forest and seasonal rice fields. Then, choose between a light walk in the forest or a relaxing sampan ride back to the station.

Visit a local bamboo craft village, established in the 1950s, and explore the traditional craftsmanship of the locals. Travelers will also have the opportunity to try their hand at basket weaving.

This tour offers an unforgettable experience, immersing you in the heart of the Mekong Delta’s unique ecosystem.

Itinerary

Start: We begin at 7:15 AM or 2:00 PM from the pickup point.

1) Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve

Duration: 3 hours
Travel from Can Tho City to Nature Reserve – Estimate to be 1 hour by car depending on the traffic.

Travel by car to Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve, cruise through mangroves by sampan, spot diverse bird species, and enjoy fresh coconut juice.

Enjoy panoramic wetland views from a 25m tower, view the rice fields (depend on the season), and choose between a 1.2km trek or a relaxing sampan ride back.

2) Bamboo Craft Village

Duration: 1 hour
We will travel to the bamboo craft village by car, which takes approximately 15 minutes.

Visit a local bamboo craft village, established in the 1950s, and explore the craftsmanship of the locals. Tourists will have the opportunity to create their own basket.

3) Return to the pickup point

We will head back to the pick up point by car. Please note on average this will take around 1 hour.

I took the tour in late December (apparently right after many rainy days). It was a solo tour due to the lack of tour takers in the morning that day so Thi (my guide) took extra good care of me.

She bought fruits and refreshments along with good quality wipes and tissue to eat the fruits with.
